I’m currently creating this. New studio for the Demons, me, Hobo Zero, and other projects. Plus looking into the chance of finding a Koto for cheap on EBay. If you’ve seen Hero you know what a Koto is. Probably won’t happen though.

back from leg 2

11 July 2006 at 3:44 pm (theroad)

Howdy, folks. Back from our brief stretch through the midwest - two shows in Ohio, one in Indiana, and the fourth in Wisconsin. Here’s some photos:

The Green Monster - our crew bus for this leg out. This shot is in Cleveland - supposedly the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is off to the right. Didn’t take photos of the interior, but we had 8 bunks stacked 2 tall and 2 deep on both sides - so a little more elbow room than the other bus we had out.

Tower City Amphitheatre in Cleveland. It’s like the Harborlights Pavillion, if the designer was feeling a bit uninspired.

There was this really cool old bridge right outside the venue in Cleveland. Couldn’t tell if it was over anything.

Indianapolis. As you can probably tell from all of these pictures, it was rather hot and humid every day. The only real break from this was probably Milwaukee.

Our kick-ass opener for Cleveland and Indy. Please note the melodica he is playing there.
Garfield: the official mascot of the State of Indiana.

We had a day off in Milwaukee - happened to be the 3rd of July, which is when they do their fireworks. Those were shooting off of a skyscraper a few blocks away, which was neat. My Morning Jacket was playing at the time, which made it extra neat.

The Green Monster under a highway overpass, which also happened to be where the stage was.
You can’t quite see it here, but the highway shoots above the far left side of this picture, perfectly blocked by the beer stand in the foreground. I should work on my photo composition.

I almost got one.

Our guitar tech moves very fast.

more to come Labor Day weekend.

greetings from Indiana! we’re out in Indianapolis today for a show on “The Lawn” - a real nice spot just outside downtown. the speedway was in full swing today with the US Grand Prix - a F1 race, and the second largest event of the year for the Indy Speedway (the first, of course, being the Indy 500). our tour supporter is on right now, so i have a few minutes to post some words. unfortuately, i can’t find the cable to link my camera with my computer, so for now just imagine pictures of a big green tour bus, a nice natural sloping field with people in it, and a large metal cut-out of Garfield. more to follow once i get pictures up. cheers!
